new book on development

The purpose of my new book on development, The Challenge of Economic Development, is to present my views on development in a consise format. The book draws on my lecture notes for a course called Survey of Economic Development which I taught at George Washington University in recent years. It is suitable for professionals in the field that want a quick update on current thinking, students wishing to have an alternative view of the issues which may differ somewhat from the standard textbooks in some areas, and academics looking for a short text book for teaching a similar survey course.
